Jasper the Human Being
Beyond writing a dissertation on modern Black disability, Jasper also does ordinary things. He is married to a public school educator with whom he has two children. His youngest child is Deaf, which has connected Jasper with the vibrant Deaf community of Richmond, Virginia. He has worked with LEAD-K in Virginia to fight for language acquisition resources for Deaf children. Jasper was involved with building the union on his campus which is now part of United Campus Workers of Virginia, CWA Local 2265. In his free time he tends his fruit trees and chickens, plays soccer, hikes national parks, and enjoys board games. Jasper supports Tottenham Hotspur Football Club which brings him great joy and fair bit of frustration.
